Terms of service

1. The service

You purchase one Founding Portrait Set for $5.00 USD. In return, a human editor turns photos you submit into four classic school-style portraits delivered as full-resolution JPEG files. Portraits are cropped, color-balanced, and placed on the background style you choose. We do not generate, reshape, or retouch faces.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old. You represent that you are the parent, legal guardian, or an authorized adult with permission to submit photos of every person shown, and that you have the right to grant us the limited license below. Children do not use this service and never have accounts.

3. What you may not upload

Do not upload images you do not have the right to use, images of people who have not given permission (or whose guardian has not), or any unlawful, sexual, violent, or abusive content. We may cancel and refund an order that violates this section and may report unlawful content where the law requires.

4. License to us

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, and edit the photos you submit only as needed to produce your portraits and handle corrections. That license ends when your originals are deleted. We never use your photos for marketing, samples, or training of any kind unless you sign a separate written release.

5. What you receive and your printing rights

You receive four JPEG files at print resolution (at least 2400 x 3000 pixels in the 4:5 portrait frame). You may print, copy, and share them for personal, non-commercial family use, anywhere and as many times as you like. Backgrounds and editing remain our work product, licensed to you for that personal use.

6. Turnaround

Delivery is promised within 24 hours after you complete submission (photos uploaded, background chosen, and the final confirmation given) — not after payment. We show the exact promised time on your order page and in your confirmation email.

7. Corrections

If a delivered set has a problem — wrong crop, wrong background, a file that won't open — request one correction from your delivery page within 48 hours. We will redo the set where feasible. See the refund policy for when a refund applies instead.

8. Founding beta

Founding beta: every set is manually finished and delivered within 24 hours after you submit your photos. During the beta we limit how many sets we take each week, features may change, and we may pause new orders. Existing paid orders are always fulfilled or refunded.

9. Limitations

Results depend on the photos you submit. We will tell you if your photos won't produce a good portrait and give you the option of a refund. We cannot fix severe blur, extreme darkness, or heavy cropping in the source photo. This is a personal family portrait service; it does not replace an official school photo, yearbook photo, or school record.

10. Deletion and retention

Original uploads are deleted at delivery. Finished portraits are available for 30 days and then deleted. Download them before then. Details are in the privacy policy.

11. Independence

PicDay.io is independent and not affiliated with any school, district, yearbook, or school photography company.

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING STATE / COUNTRY], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of [VENUE], unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
