- Skip direct sun and harsh overhead lights — soft, even light is what we want.
- If one side of the face is much darker, move a little closer to the window.

Privacy
Three promises, kept by design.
- No face generation
- We never generate, reshape, or retouch a face. Your child's face in the portrait is your child's face from your photo.
- Never used to train AI
- Your photos are used only to make your portraits and handle a correction you request. No model training, no face embeddings, no facial recognition.
- Deleted after delivery
- Original uploads and working copies are deleted when your set is delivered. Finished portraits stay available for 30 days, then they are deleted too.

Is this automatic?
No. During the founding beta, a person finishes every set by hand and delivers it within 24 hours after you submit your photos. Nothing is generated by a machine and there is no automated processing step.
Is my child's face changed?
No. We never generate, reshape, slim, smooth, or otherwise retouch a face. We crop, color-balance, and place your photo on a classic portrait background. The face is exactly the face in your photo.
What happens to the photos I upload?
They are used only to make your four portraits and to handle a correction if you ask for one. They are stored privately, never used to train AI, and the originals and working copies are deleted when your set is delivered. A safety-net cleanup runs every hour in case anything is missed.
When will I get the portraits?
Within 24 hours after you submit your photos and choose a background. The clock starts at submission, not at payment, so you can take your time getting a photo you like.
What kinds of photos work best?
A phone photo taken near a window with soft light, a plain wall or sheet behind your child, framed from the top of the head to about mid-torso. Our short capture guide walks you through it with diagrams.
Do I need a special camera?
No. Any recent phone camera is more than enough. Use the normal 1x lens, turn off Portrait mode, and wipe the lens.
